Welcome to INPLASY

The International Database to Register Systematic Reviews

International platform of registered systematic review and meta-analysis protocols

“Publication of a protocol for systematic review prior to knowledge of the available studies reduces the impact of some potential bias. Additionally, prospective protocol promotes transparency of methods and processes, and allows peer review of the planned methods.”

(Cochrane Handbook 2019)

“Systematic reviews and meta-analysis should build on a protocol that informs the planned methods, rationale, and hypothesis of the study.”

(PRISMA-P 2015)

INPLASY Services

INPLASY database provides a fast and straightforward way to register your systematic review protocol.

Unique identifier number

A unique registration number identifies each record – INPLASY assists researchers worldwide by allowing them to register a public record of the planned methods of their evidence synthesis projects.

Protocols identified by DOI - Digital Object Identifier

The DOI system provides a technical and social infrastructure for the registration and use of persistent interoperable identifiers for use on digital networks.

What does registration on INPLASY involve?

INPLASY accepts systematic review protocols assessing interventions, prognostic factors, diagnostic accuracy, methodological reviews, epidemiological reviews, and systematic reviews of animal studies. Additionally, INPLASY accepts systematic reviews assessing sports performance as an outcome, methodological reviews that evaluate the quality of reporting, pedagogical reviews, evidence and gap maps, mapping reviews, and scoping reviews

New feature: INPLASY accepts methodological review, meta-research, meta-epidemiological, research-on-research, and other similar studies. Authors must submit their protocols using our meta-research form.

INPLASY platform registers the DOI with Crossref. It allows readers to locate a protocol and the linked INPLASY URL quickly.
